Two new members elected, two incumbents return to school board

On Nov. 3, ISD 279 voters chose leaders for the four open seats on the school board. Thomas Brooks and Tamara Grady will join the board as new directors, and Heather Douglass and Jackie Mosqueda-Jones will return as re-elected members.

Brooks was chosen in the special election that was called following the resignation of a previous board member. He will be seated on Nov. 17 and will serve the remaining two years of that term. Grady will be seated in January 2021 and will serve until January 2025.

Douglass and Mosqueda-Jones were re-elected for additional four-year terms.

Election results are unofficial until they are canvassed by the school board at a special meeting on Nov. 13.
