Dear Basswood families,
In just a few days, we will be welcoming our 4 Star preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students back to school! We are really looking forward to seeing them. We have updated our plans to incorporate the recent change in guidance provided by Governor Walz and the Minnesota Department of Education and will be ready to greet them Tuesday, Jan. 19.
My purpose in writing today is to inform you of an opportunity to hear more about Basswood's plans for the return to in person learning through a Parent Forum hosted on Google Meets. On Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., parents and guardians can join me to hear a brief update about Basswood’s plan and to participate in a Q&A session. The topics to be addressed in the Parent Forum include: safety measures, the instructional program, lunch & recess and transportation. Following the session, I will send an email with key information out to all families.
A Google Meet link was sent via email on Jan. 11. If you did not receive it, please contact the main office.
Also, please remember that the new guidance ensures that teachers have three days of planning time to transition to the in person model. To provide time for teacher preparation, students in kindergarten through fifth grade will not have school on January 13, 14 and 15. School will resume for all students on January 19, with 4 Star thru second grades reporting to Basswood and third thru fifth grades remaining in Distance Learning until Feb. 1, 2021.
