Basswood Elementary School hosted a Math and Science Night on March 11, where students and their families could participate in various STEM activities. The goal of the night was to create a passion for learning and foster a potential future in math and science for many of these students.

On the last day of February, students in all grades at Basswood Elementary School gathered to celebrate Black History Month. The celebration, the first time that Basswood has hosted this type of event, was a huge hit amongst students and staff. Leading up to the event, students have been learning about race, culture and identity on Basswood TV. 

The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) recently announced their 2025 Regional Administrators of Excellence, and Osseo Area Schools’ Superintendent, Dr. Kim Hiel, has been recognized as the organization’s award winner for region nine. 

School and district programming is canceled for Tuesday, Feb. 18, because of the extreme cold expected that the National Weather Service strongly suggests our community avoid for safety reasons.

As Osseo Area Schools celebrates National School Counseling Week Feb. 3-7, there is even more reason to celebrate district school counselors’ admirable work this year.

Our district is temporarily moving to eLearning tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 21, because of the extreme cold expected during arrival time that the National Weather Service strongly suggests our community avoid for safety reasons.
